The left French door has three narrow condiment shelves, but also houses the water and ice dispenser. An LED display on the outside of the left door shows the temperature of the fridge and freezer, the condition of the water filter, and the setting of the dispenser. The temperature displayed is the thermostat’s setting, not the actual temperature. Simply press the button to adjust the temperature to a lower setting. Unfortunately, there are no up-down arrows on this feature, which means you need to keep pressing the button to cycle through lower and higher temperatures. We did appreciate that there was plenty of room under the dispenser to fit a 16-ounce pint glass, and even a standard pitcher, at an angle.

Clean the condenser coils. Your fridge comes with condenser coils that are filled with refrigerant. Over time, the coils—which are not in a sealed unit—can become caked with dust, hair, or pet fur, which reduces their ability to keep the air in the fridge cold. Fortunately, cleaning refrigerator coils is a relatively simple process, requiring only a coil condenser brush (about $10 at hardware stores) and a vacuum to suck up the loosened dust. If you find a lot of dust buildup on the coils, plan to clean them once or twice a year to keep your fridge cooling properly.

Dr. Kyle Perry is building an “explosively driven projectile generator” to blow the doors off underground tunnels, all in the name of mine safety. The projectile generator — “basically … a big cannon” — will be set up at S&T’s Experimental Mine and will shoot concrete blocks, hard hats and roof bolts at concrete seals designed to be used in coal mines. Perry’s goal: to test how well those seals hold up against high-speed projectiles. Miners use these seals to shut off tunnels once they’re through mining them. But if gases build up in those abandoned tunnels, “damaged seals could start leaking methane into the active portion of the mine,” says Perry. “That could become an explosive mixture and would be dangerous for the miners.” Missouri S&T received a $249,000 grant from the Alpha Foundation for the Improvement of Mine Safety and Health, an organization formed in the wake of one of the worst mining disasters in U.S. history – the one that killed 29 miners at the West Virginia Upper Big Branch Mine in 2010. S&T’s Experimental Mine was chosen because of its large-scale testing facilities and expertise.

In February 2016, the FASB issued updated guidance on leases which, for operating leases, requires a lessee to recognize a right-of-use asset and a lease liability, initially measured at the present value of the lease payments, in its balance sheet. The standard also requires a lessee to recognize a single lease cost, calculated so that the cost of the lease is allocated over the lease term, on a generally straight-line basis. The guidance is effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2018, including interim periods within those fiscal years, with earlier application permitted. We are currently evaluating the effects of adoption and have not yet determined the impact the revised guidance will have on our consolidated financial statements and related disclosures.

The issues with faulty electronic windows are not the only electronic fault reported by BMW owners. Greater compression force needed for tighter seal is also friction’s normal force, so basically if seal doesn’t leak, it’ll dissipate power and heat up (which in turn might affect sealing). Therefore, like so many other things, permissible amount of leak is a trade-off.

Four customers accounted for approximately 32% of our total revenue in fiscal 2018 and eight customers accounted for approximately 49% of our total revenues in fiscal 2017. The loss of a significant amount of business from one of our major customers would materially and adversely affect our results of operations until such time, if ever, as we are able to replace the lost business. Significant customers or projects in any one period may not continue to be significant customers or projects in other periods. In any given year, there is a possibility that a single pharmaceutical company may account for a significant percentage of our total revenue or that our business may be dependent on one or more large projects. Since we do not have long-term contracts with most of our customers, the importance of a single customer may vary dramatically from year to year as projects end and new projects begin. To the extent that we are dependent on any single customer, we are subject to the risks faced by that customer if such risks impede the customer’s ability to stay in business and make timely payments to us.
